The Playdate Project is an annual event that Laura Izumikawa started in 2017, with the intention of creating the best playdate ever: "a playdate with a purpose." Along with our favorite local creatives and small businesses, we invite guests to join us for a big playdate while supporting programs that help children in crisis who are placed into foster care. 100% of ticket sales and in-kind donations are used to support these non-profit organizations that mobilize families and churches to support these children.

We have hosted the last three Playdate Project events in Los Angeles & Orange County, CA to benefit Olive Crest and had sold-out attendance each time as well as countless requests to host more events out of state. We are excited to bring The Playdate Project to Houston, Texas this year!

Through this year’s Playdate Project event, we will benefit Houston’s The Riverside Project, specifically supporting The Response Network, a program that mobilizes the community to meet practical needs of vulnerable families. The Riverside Project aims to keep children at the heart and focus of everything and to empower every single person to consider their role in the foster care system. We would love to come alongside them to highlight their efforts in supporting these precious children.

We are currently working on details of the event with tickets soon to be released in the next month so stay tuned! We will have holiday-themed fun arts & crafts stations, safe play areas for kids of all ages, delicious snacks, surprise goodie bags, amazing raffle prizes, an opportunity to meet Laura, and more!

Whether you’re in Texas or out of state and you’d like to participate as a donor or vendor, please fill out our form and our team will contact you shortly. Thank you so much for your generosity!

With grateful hearts,
The Playdate Project team
